HELLER KITCHEN

Honorable Mention - Historic Remodel by Colorado Awards for Remodeling Excellence

After
Before
Our goal was to “expand” the functional use and space without increasing the footprint or “popping the top.” And, to do so in a way that invoked the original charm and character of the 1911 craftsman-style bungalow in Wash Park, while utilizing new and modern products & techniques. In essence, to create a space that has the timeless value & appeal of one of the cities Beloved Bungalows. We accomplished just that, with a close working relationship with the homeowners.

The new Kitchen blends effortlessly (in style and proportion) into the existing home.

Kitchen Remodel Objectives:
  • To Not Pop the Top (or expand the existing exterior structure in any way)
  • Remodel the Kitchen so that it complimented the charm of the home
  • Open the Kitchen for a more spacious feel and functional design
  • Renovate the old back mud room into a sunny breakfast nook
  • Remodel the upstairs bathroom
Kitchen Remodel Highlights:
  • Matching trim details and materials
  • Concrete countertops & marble in timeless hues and shades from the earth
  • Open “feel” to kitchen without creating the “loft” feel of fully open Kitchens
  • Restoration of existing old growth fir floors through out the home
  • Built in “niches” for function & aesthetics
