Homeworks' SUMMER 2004 Newsletter (text only)
A
Word from Rick
HAPPY NEW YEAR! Okay I know this is a little late but that
is when I had hoped to send this to you. We have been so busy
that by the time you get this it should be close to our 19th
birthday, having founded this company in July of 1985.
So…Happy
New Year!
2003
was a big year for us. After 17 years as CC&A Construction
Co., we decided it was time for a new name that better reflected
the work we do and a new eye-catching “look.”
A Client survey and market research study later, we chose
Classic Homeworks. The change has brought us nothing but positive
response. We owe much of this success to our Clients who took
the time to give us their feedback and share ideas and advice.
More than that, we actually owe our very existence to you.
I mean that sincerely. Without people like you we would have
no one to serve and no one to share our passion with. You
have added great value to my life and all those I work with.
THANK YOU!
I
sincerely hope we have returned the favor and added value
to your lives as well.
At
your service,
Rick
We
made the BIG 50!
Thanks to YOU, we were honored as one of the nation’s
50 best remodelers
Just
a few weeks ago, we earned one of the most prestigious awards
in the remodeling industry, a place in the "Big
50 Class of 2004." The annual honor ranks
us among the top 50 remodeling firms in the U.S. as awarded
by Remodeling magazine.
Classic
Homeworks was recognized in the category of Business Savvy
due to the comprehensive systems we have developed over the
past 19 years. Many other companies around the country have
adopted our systems and methods through peer groups and regular
contributions to articles in trade magazines. Our drive for
a comprehensive system of doing business stems solely from
our desire to provide the highest-quality service to you,
our customers. Thank YOU for helping us achieve this goal.

Homeworks takes home 5 CARE Awards
We strongly believe that our Clients ideas are what make our
work shine! So a few months ago, we chose a few of our gems
and set out to try to win a few awards for them. Little did
we know that we would win awards for all of them! Last month,
the Colorado
Awards for Remodeling Excellence (CARE), sponsored by
the Council of Professional Remodelers, announced that we’d
won the following awards. We can’t thank you enough
for your business!
Gaylord
Addition the Best of Two Worlds
When Rick Pratt, the owner of Classic Homeworks, decided to
add on to his own 1912
Bungalow in Wash Park 3 years ago, he had one goals: Create
a home that is healthy for the family as well as the local
and global community.
With two decades of experience working on older homes, he
was able to nearly double the square footage of the home without
imposing on the land by building up rather than out. The new
design encourages family togetherness and also works very
well for entertaining.
Rick’s sense of environmental responsibility led him
to design and build the addition using as many environmentally
friendly materials and techniques as was affordable and available.
Through smart design and quality craftsmanship, Rick and his
family enjoy twice the space with utility costs only 30% higher
than before the remodel.
The new addition blends effortlessly with the original bungalow
and the neighborhood, proving that today’s families
can still enjoy yesterday’s architecture.

Spotlight
Joel Jay Oatten, C.R., began with our company early last year.
With 9 years of remodeling experience and a Certified Remodeler
designation, he is invaluable to us. Joel is the first face
for many of our new Clients and walks with them through the
entire remodeling process. Recently, Joel and his wife, Jennifer,
bought a home in Golden and adopted a lab mix puppy, named
Lucy.

HFH Opens Outlet Store to Recycle & Reuse
On
Valentine’s Day, Habitat For Humanity opened their new
home improvement outlet store located at 780 S. Santa Fe Drive
in Denver.
Donated new, used, scratch-and-dent appliances, building materials,
cabinets, electrical and plumbing supplies, furniture, furnaces,
tile, carpet, paint, and tools will be sold to the public
or used in future HFH housing projects.
Proceeds from the operation will help the Habitat program
build more homes. Donors will enjoy a tax deduction, help
provide the community with a source of low-cost materials
for home improvement, as well as reduce materials going to
landfills.
Be sure to get the word out your family, friends, co-workers,
and businesses!

Referral
Reward Program Launched
The highest honor we can receive from you is a recommendation
to your friends & family to give us a call for their remodeling
needs. This is a “gift” from you to us that we
truly appreciate.
In
fact, referrals make our world go ‘round. With the majority
of our work coming from word-of-mouth referrals by Clients
and others who know our craftsmanship and integrity first-hand,
we decided it was time we show our true appreciation. So we’ve
come up with a program designed to say “thank you”
to our loyal fans.
It
also our hope that you might feel that giving our name to
your friends, family & co-workers is also a “gift”
to them. If we haven’t yet achieved this status in your
eyes, know that we strive for it each and every day.
If
we did add value to your lives and your home, if the process
we went through to provide you with your home remodeling was
excellent, then please do us all a favor and refer them to
us.
It
just might be the nicest “gift” you have given
them all year.
Here are our Gifts
to you:
FREE Movie Tickets
Enjoy an evening for two at the movies on us when the friends
you referred hire us to Design what will become the best room(s)
in their home!
$100 Gift certificate to stores such as Bed Bath &
Beyond, Pottery Barn, Williams-Sonoma and more when the friends
you referred hire us to build a great new space for them.
For this, we really thank you!
