this basement, equipped with a teen room, bathroom, and utility
room, we removed one brick bearing column and moved another
to open the floor plan. In their place, we installed a 300-pound
steel beam to support the main floor. We generally enlarge basement
windows, however, for this basement we would have had to rebuild
a newer deck. To provide continuity and retain the home's classic
appeal, the woodwork and trim matches that of the main floor. |
